Although difficult to measure the impact of any marketing/advertising, we are more than happy at the response from our association with Conwy Golf Club that we have had to date. We have had several customers booking into the hotel after seeing our advert on the Conwy Golf Club website with the intention of playing a round there during their stay.
Also we have many customers coming into our restaurant as a direct result of seeing our advert whilst at the club itself. In May of this year I organised a competition at the club for 18 golfers who knew of our partnership with the club all of which enjoyed a meal after their round at The Black Lion.

We get a number of requests for sponsorship especially in the local area, due to being one of the largest employers around! We try not to take many on as if we’re seen sponsoring some and not others this could cause some controversy, however the package Whole in 1 Golf offered coinciding with it being held at The Astbury was too good to miss.
The Astbury is by far the most prestigious golf club in our area. We have held our annual corporate golf day there for the last 5 years which has proven to be a great success. Now with the opportunity to support their growth partnered with Whole in 1 golf we felt we had to be a part of this. The technology Whole in 1 Golf offer is outstanding and the advertising opportunity it creates for our company, although not directly related to our industry, is also very interesting.
So far my experience dealing with Whole in 1 Golf has been excellent. At our corporate golf day this year the feedback to the new app now available to download was very positive. We were originally contacted by Craig introducing Whole in 1 Golf and I was particularly taken by the technology, link with Golf and the central golfing venue. As an avid golfer myself it’s never a difficult decision to buy into anything golf related but my business partner (not a golfer) does take a little more persuasion. After meeting and after having been shown the technology we instantly realised we wanted to be involved and signed up straight away.
As a business we actually don’t expect to receive a great deal of direct calls from the adverts but are keen for our brand to be in front of potential customers. As most of our work comes from recommendations, a large proportion of those from the golfing community this is just one of many marketing opportunities we’re getting involved with.
Our reason for getting involved put simply is;
Do we like the technology? Yes
Do we like the company providing the tech? Yes
Will we want to take clients to this golfing venue where they will see our adverts, logo etc linked with such a cool piece of tech? Yes
As this venue is one of the busier business focused golfing venues in the area we wanted to make sure it was our business being advertised and not one of our competitors and the fact the cost included free rounds of golf made the decision even more straight forward. “
