MyCaddie – hints and tips

The MyCaddie app forms part of your package and is an ideal way to showcase your course flyover, capture data and engage with anyone that has downloaded it whether it be on their smartphone or via the GPS Cart Computers.

Over the last few months we have been visiting clubs to educate them about the technology and discuss ways in which MyCaddie can be marketed within each club. One of the main concerns is that members won’t download it but we would say why wouldn’t they? The app, after all, features everything that your club website does and with a scorecard it can negate the need for the more traditional pencil and scorecard. It might also have been a deciding factor in why you signed up with Whole In 1 Golf in the first instance and it represents additional website traffic for the club. 

The more people that download MyCaddie then the greater your marketing reach. You can send anyone who has downloaded the app regular push notifications which can be anything from course closures to promoting your own events, competitions and functions for example.

Whilst the golf app and technology market is crowded, MyCaddie allows clubs to tailor their own personal section of the app with the ability to update everything from course information, to the scorecard right through to the latest pin position. What’s more, its free to download.

Many existing members might not even know it exists, so we wanted to share some tips with you of how clubs are marketing the app and these include:

  • Enclosing information on all regular correspondence with existing members including your own newsletters;
  • Featuring the link on your own signature boxes;
  • On all correspondence to new members;
  • To any visiting player who may book through a booking agent or BRS for instance;
  • On correspondence to any visiting society or corporate/charity golf day;
